HUID stands for Hallmark Unique Identification Number. It is a unique 6-digit alphanumeric code marked on each hallmarked gold jewellery article. This code helps customers verify whether the jewellery is genuinely hallmarked or not.

HUID protects customers from fake hallmarking and wrong purity claims. Earlier, many customers trusted only the stamp on jewellery, but now customers can verify the jewellery themselves using the BIS Care App.
The official BIS Care App allows customers to verify hallmarked jewellery using the "Verify HUID" feature — before purchase, not after.
Download the BIS Care App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Open the app.
Select Verify HUID.
Enter the 6-digit HUID code marked on the jewellery.
Check the details — jewellery purity, jeweller information, licence status, and other relevant details.
A hallmark stamp alone is not enough. Some fake or unauthorized sellers may try to put fake hallmark-like symbols on jewellery. Customers should always verify the HUID through the official BIS Care App.
Recent reports have shown that unauthorized hallmarking units have been found marking jewellery illegally without valid HUID — which is why verification is very important before purchase.
Jewellery does not have a 6-digit HUID.
